Our school is participating in a fun summer reading project: the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. This Summer Reading Challenge unites students from around the globe in an attempt to set a new world record for most minutes read this summer!
I will be updating you on how many minutes are read both here and on the Daisy Brook Facebook page. Let's see if we can keep on track of the "Best in State" record for our school! Make reading a big part of your family’s summer fun! $426 was collected from the sale of items at the Used Book Sale. That’s at least 1,000 books in the hands of students! All the money collected go back into the library for the purchase of new books. Donations are accepted any time of year and will be added to next year's sale.
Daisy Brook will be having a USED BOOK SALE in Room 301 on
Tuesday, May 19th from 10:30 – 12:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 20th from 10:30 – 12:30 p.m. Hard covers will be 50 cents, soft covers 25 cents, and magazines 10 cents each. We are holding this sale in order to place books in the hands of students and allow us to retire some of our collection in order to make room for new items. If you have any items that you would like to donate, feel free to drop them off at the Media Center or Front Office. We would be happy to take your donations. Come join us and find some great reads! The website sciencebob.com has been added to the Science Fair Help page. There is a lot of great information on this website, so check it out!
For your benefit I have added a homework page for research, added help with subjects and a science fair page to help you locate great information. I hope you find them useful.
Jerry DeCaire, comic artist, will be presenting on Wednesday, December 3rd.
